About Tecnicelpa

Its main objective is the promotion and technical-professional and scientific improvement of its members, within the scope of the Pulp and Paper Industries, as well as related sectors of recognized interest. It organizes Technical Seminars, in the form of short-term Information and Training actions on a wide range of topics. It maintains relationships of fruitful collaboration with the Universities of Beira Interior, Aveiro, Lisbon and Coimbra and with the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, through protocols that include specialization technical courses for technicians linked to the sector.
It created the “TECNICELPA AWARD” associated with the holding of the International Conference, with the aim of stimulating the production of technical-scientific works in Companies, Universities and Research Institutes that develop their activity in the areas of Forest, Pulp and Paper.

Since its creation, TECNICELPA has been a reference for the sector's staff and companies, with the Conferences being the most important part of the calendar of pulp and paper events that take place in Portugal. These forums present the latest developments in the field of pulp and paper manufacturing, covering aspects related to raw materials, production and development technologies, product quality and environmental protection.
Every four months it publishes a magazine called “info@tecnicelpa”, which is intended to inform its members about relevant facts in the Pulp and Paper Industry sector and about the life of the Association. The Association is governed by its own statutes and is directed by the Governing Bodies defined in the composition and whose term of office is two years.
The Board of Directors also has an Advisory Board from which it can request opinions on the life of the Association and a Scientific Committee composed of individuals from industry and universities.
